Classes and activities are staged at the Memorial Hall throughout the year

Events for everybody

The Memorial Hall is the ideal venue for regular activities such as fitness and dance classes. With great facilities for people from near and far whether it's an event or function the Hall is welcoming, spacious and convenient for Ryedale and further afield.

Fitness Activities

From an intense circuit training workout to the more gentle ballet the Memorial Hall offers a range of classes and activities for all ages through out the year.

Karen also runs Physiotherapist led classes, face to face, online and 1 to 1 sessions available. Karen teaches Pilates and other Fitness classes.

Sarah-Louise Ashworth School of Dance

The Sarah-Louise Ashworth School of Dance

Information about Sarah's various classes held in the Memorial Hall are as follows:-

The Sarah-Louise Ashworth School of Dance opened in Kirkbymoorside in January 2006. Classes are held daily for children starting from as young as 18 months old. with Adult classes also available. Classes now run in Kirkbymoorside and Pickering.

Subjects include RAD ballet, IDTA ballet, modern, tap, jazz, theatre craft, commercial jazz, contemporary, acro, musical theatre and singing. We also offer adult classes in Dancefit, Zumba Fitness, Zumba Gold, Silver Swans and Ballet.

Sarah's aim is to encourage children to be confident, well rounded individuals who are sociable, friendly and creative.  Her school believes that dance and performing arts should be a fun way of keeping fit, a way to express themselves, building pupils’ confidence, encouraging good posture, allowing pupils to make friends and giving pupils a hobby which they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Other Activities

Our regular events include committee meetings and on Wednesday Market Day the Hall has table top sales and a café. Please contact us for more info.

10K Run Base each May

This great local event is staged annually in Kirkbymoorside to raise money for the PTA groups of local schools.

Table Top Sales

On Wednesday Market Day we hold table top sales. 

We also have space/capacity in the Hall for classes such as Badminton, Pickleball, Table Tennis etc. - if interested please contact Sheila Ridley to discuss your requirements further.
